China Fashion Network reported on February 15 that the first commercial cinema powered by Boosted by FLEXOUND Augmented Audio™ officially opened its doors on February 15, offering audiences an immersive sound experience. The world-premiere theatre is located in Mäntyharju, Finland, in the frigid Nordic region. The patented technology will also be available for experience and purchase at CinemaCon 2019, held April 1–4 in Las Vegas.
FLEXOUND Augmented Audio™ for cinemas complements existing sound systems. It combines high‑quality surround sound with physical vibration to create a uniquely immersive cinema experience. The technology delivers equal audio quality to every seat regardless of position, improves dialogue clarity, and allows theatres to maintain lower volume levels. No wearable devices are required for augmented audio.
